How hard is it .... Really?

Authors Bio's.
I see them all the time. They litter the backs or insides of some of my most favorite books. I see them on author websites, Amazon author pages, Facebook author pages. The examples of what they are, and how they should be are everywhere! Why is this so hard for me?

I find it kind of hard to talk about myself in the third person. I also find it kind of odd to say what I enjoy, and what I do when I am not writing.

How appropriate can it be to say ...
Diane M. Chattaway is an aspiring, independent writer, based out of North Carolina, where she lives with her husband and their three children. She leads an eclectic life style, which has paved the way towards and through various paths of life.

Diane has spent the past two years bent over books, desperately honing her memorization skills while being primed and polished as a "Scripture Educator In Training." She forges into this year with high hopes, during her continued education in both Prophecy and Catastrophism .

When Diane isn't plotting disaster with the corral of people held captive in her mind, you can find her lounging on the sofa in her favorite sleep-pants, devouring a can of Pringles while binge-watching "The Young And Hungry." Or, standing by a nearby window, suspiciously spying on neighbors, like she is living her own-real-life episode, straight from the movie "The Burbs."

Her hobbies include - Scaring small children, dabbling in photography, candle making, cooking, a love that she turned into occasionally catering small parties, she also enjoys creating short films with her girls, dancing around mindlessly while singing at the top of her lungs, and using apples to bribe small horses, as well as shy goats, to come a little closer, where she spends most of her time working as a Farmhand.

While life is disruptive, and forever changing, her dream stands constant. To write a story, that someone, out there, will enjoy.

I am sitting here, staring at my computer, wondering - what on earth do people really want to read in an Authors Bio. All that I wrote up top, is in fact true, but lackluster in a professional standard. Do people even care? Do Author Bio's help you determine if you will read a certain book? Can anyone answer that?

I am at a loss here ...

A behind the scenes, in the mind look, type of tid-bit
I was asked once - (along with a group of others) Have you ever had to write something so horrific that you truly didn't want to. My answer to that I quoted in the meme below.
However, sometimes - evil is needed to drive a story forward. In all honesty, it hurt like hell to write what I did! But it served a purpose.

Second Published Childrens book "It's not so bad!"

"It's not so bad!"

It’s not so bad is a children’s story teaching
kids about everyday things they go through in life
and how they aren’t so bad. through
the power of nursery rhyme.

When my girls were younger, we went through these situations. Night after night, or day after day there was a struggle with these things. I used to make up rhymes, which would make them forget how upset they were that they were not getting their way.

This is the aftermath of those times, mixed with the fun memories my three girls and I made while together creating the pictures for the story.

First Ever published Childrens book "Freddy The Frog, Finding Friends."

"Freddy the frog, Finding friends."

Freddy is not too happy about moving to a new pond where he doesn't know anyone. But when a mysterious thing happens, it sets in motion an incredible journey where he finds friends along the way. Freddy soon learns that, change isn't all bad.

A nursery rhyme story.

I wrote this story for my girls once upon a time ... Years of just making up bits here and there. Avery, my youngest asked if her class could read the story. It was all in my head, but that question launched a want to give her something of substance. Something she could feel. My three daughters and I illustrated all pictures. We made this story our own. We hope your little ones enjoy as much as we still do.

My First Ever Short Story "Fertilizer."

I recently self-published my very first SHORT story "Fertilizer! @ The end of May.

FERTILIZER

Plot: Alice is an all around public do-gooder with a hidden secret. A vengeful appetite towards those who stumble into her unapologetic world. Alex, an up to no good nobody gets a taste of what she calls justice.

This short story is for those who know the crippling effects your emotions can take on when enduring the aftermath of a break in. Who share the fantasy of revenge.

This is a tale of revenge, a self telling story taking you on for a ride through Alice's and Alex's short lived journey. Allowing you to witness the self gratifying moment's that Alice calls justice.

This story was born thanks to a situation my neighbor was going through. "She had just been robbed." This was the fantasy of what would happen, had the robbers robbed someone other than my neighbor, someone a little sinister.
